Explosion in residential building in Moscow injures one person
An explosion in a residential building in north-west Moscow has left one person injured, according to Russian media reports.
The incident occurred on Academician Bochvar Street on the fourth floor of an apartment block, Msk1.ru reported. The cause of the explosion has not yet been officially confirmed.
Emergency services, including bomb disposal experts, were deployed to the scene. The injured person was taken to the Sklifosovsky Research Institute for treatment.
The Telegram channel Shot reported that the blast wave shattered a kitchen window and frame, scattering household items outside the apartment. The surrounding area was cordoned off, with police restricting access to the building.
A small fire broke out following the explosion, but was quickly extinguished by the apartment owner.
Preliminary reports suggest the incident may have been caused by a malfunctioning electric kettle, although authorities have launched a preliminary investigation to determine the exact cause.
