Extreme heat forecast across most of Kazakhstan
Extreme heat is expected to affect much of Kazakhstan, according to the national weather service, Kazhydromet.
Forecasters said short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in western, northern, eastern, and mountainous southeastern parts of the country, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.
Southern Kazakhstan will continue to experience intense heat, with temperatures reaching up to 43°C. Authorities have also warned of an extreme wildfire risk, while dust storms are possible in some areas. A storm warning has been issued nationwide.
In Astana, partly cloudy weather is forecast with no precipitation. Temperatures are expected to range from 18–20°C at night to 35–37°C during the day.
In Almaty, conditions will also be partly cloudy and dry, with temperatures of 20–22°C overnight and 34–36°C during the daytime.
Meanwhile, Shymkent is expected to see cloudy skies without precipitation, with temperatures ranging from 20–22°C at night to 39–41°C during the day.
