Fars: Iran to be compensated via newly created investment fund
Damages sustained by Iran during the conflict in the Persian Gulf will be compensated through a special investment fund, to be established with the participation of interested financial institutions, the Fars news agency reports.
According to a source familiar with the full text of Tehran’s ceasefire conditions, “compensation for Iran’s losses will be handled through the investment-financial fund being created.” Details regarding the fund’s structure and management have not yet been disclosed.
The source also noted that part of the future taxes Iran plans to levy on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz will be allocated to reconstruction programs for facilities damaged during the conflict. Under the ceasefire terms, Iran and Oman will have the right to impose fees on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
