Fatal road accident in Türkiye leaves two dead, eighteen injured

A serious road accident occurred in the district of Kepsut, in the Turkish province of Balıkesir.

The collision between a passenger car and a minibus resulted in two fatalities and left at least 18 others injured, some with varying degrees of severity, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

Earlier, an accident involving minibuses has occurred in the Kars province in eastern Türkiye, leaving at least 27 people injured.

The crash occurred at an intersection on January 1 in the evening.

One vehicle, carrying passengers, was heading to the town of Sarıkamış, while the other was en route to Kağızman. Photos from the scene show one minibus crashing into a pole, causing it to nearly tip over on its side.

A severe traffic accident on the Ankara-Aksaray highway also resulted in the tragic death of seven individuals.

The collision also left 33 others injured, with two reported to be in critical condition.

The accident involved a tourist bus carrying two drivers, one guide, and 41 passengers, which veered off the road and overturned.
