Trump honoured with FIFA Peace Prize, says he ended eight wars, Ukraine next PHOTO
On December 5, FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented US President Donald Trump with the organisation’s Peace Award.
The ceremony took place during the draw for the group stage of the 2026 World Cup at the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington, Caliber.Az reports via Fox News.
Trump was presented with a statuette depicting four hands holding the Earth, alongside a medal. In his acceptance speech, he described the award as “one of the great honours” of his life.
He also referred to global conflicts, claiming efforts to prevent large-scale loss of life in countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, India, and Pakistan. “Beyond awards, Gianni and I were discussing this. We saved millions and millions of lives,” he said, citing interventions he said helped prevent further casualties in several regions.
Trump went on to claim that he had ended eight wars and that a ninth (Ukraine) was on the way, emphasising that no one had ever done anything like it before.
Responding to questions about the FIFA Peace Award, he said he was unsure whether he would receive it and had not been officially notified.
He added that while he had heard of the award, his focus remained on saving lives, which he claimed were being saved in their millions.
