Fire breaks out at former Cinema City building in Astana Photo
A fire erupted on December 8 at the former Cinema City complex in Astana, Kazakhstan, prompting a high-priority emergency response.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze in a detached one-story pavilion located in the Baikonur district on Amangeldy Imanov Street. Officials said details about the cause of the fire are still being clarified, Caliber.Az informs per Kazak media.
“No information about casualties has been received by 112. Rescuers are working at the scene at an elevated level,” the ministry said in a statement.
As of 09:16 local time, authorities confirmed that the fire had been localized. While its spread has been halted, the blaze has not yet been fully extinguished.
