Fire breaks out at textile warehouse in Türkiye’s Istanbul VIDEO
A fire has broken out at a facility used as a warehouse for a textile workshop in Arnavutköy district of Türkiye’s capital Istanbul.
Multiple firefighters, policemen and medical teams were dispatched to the scene after residents alerted authorities. The fire was quickly brought under control by the firefighters, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Earlier, the fire broke out at the wooden-clad 12-storey Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu during a busy holiday period when 234 people were staying there. It took 12 hours to put out.
An investigation has been launched into the incident and there have been conflicting reports about whether the hotel was up to safety standards. Nine people have been arrested, including the hotel's owner.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who visited Bolu, said those responsible for negligence leading to the fire "will be held accountable".
