Fire breaks out in Russian city after Ukrainian drone strikes

A fire broke out in an industrial area of Almetyevsk, in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan, following a drone attack by the Ukrainian armed forces.

The city administration reported the incident on its official Telegram channel, according to Caliber.Az.

“As a result of falling debris in the industrial zone, a localised fire occurred. Emergency services are working at the scene. There are no casualties,” the statement said.

Authorities emphasised that there is no threat to civilians.

Earlier, eyewitnesses reported hearing between five and seven explosions in Almetyevsk. Local residents said they saw flashes in the sky, after which a fire and smoke were observed in one of the city’s districts.
