Fire erupts at nursing home in Türkiye’s Düzce, 25 evacuated PHOTO

A fire broke out late at night at a nursing home in the city of Düzce, Türkiye, reportedly caused by a malfunction in an elevator motor, according to TRT Haber.

Emergency services were quickly mobilised after the alarm was raised, with police, gendarmerie, firefighting, and medical teams dispatched to the scene to respond to the incident.

During the evacuation operation, 25 elderly residents requiring assistance were safely removed from the facility. The report specifies that those evacuated were individuals dependent on external care.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control and subsequently extinguished it. No additional details regarding casualties or injuries were provided.
