Fire erupts on key crude pipeline in western Iran
A major crude oil pipeline caught fire in western Iran after being damaged at the Razan mountain pass in Lorestan province, the deputy governor said, according to Mehr news agency.
According to the statement, the main crude oil pipeline located at the Razan mountain pass was damaged at around 07:00 local time, triggering a fire.
“Immediately after receiving reports of the incident, coordination was established with the managing director of the Lorestan Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company and the managing director of the Central Region company.
Technical teams were dispatched to the site, and firefighting operations are underway,” the statement said.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation. Authorities added that further details will be released once available.
