Fire in Russia's Yakutia claims lives of three children
A deadly fire has claimed the lives of three children in the village of Namtsy, located in Yakutia’s Namsky District. The victims were born in 2013, 2015, and 2016.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the blaze broke out in a private two-story wooden house. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed. Authorities have opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which concerns causing death by negligence.
The regional office of the Investigative Committee reported that firefighters discovered the children’s bodies on the second floor after the fire had been localized. At the time of the incident, no adult family members were present in the house.
