Firefighters battle blaze under elevated alert in Kazakhstan’s capital

Firefighters in Astana are battling a large fire that broke out in a two-storey utility building on Aksai Street in the city’s Baikonyr district, Kazinform reported, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan (MES).

According to the ministry, the blaze prompted an elevated alert response, with multiple firefighting teams dispatched to the scene. Four combat units are currently working to contain the fire, while an operational headquarters has been established to coordinate efforts.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far. A continuous water supply has been organised to ensure uninterrupted firefighting operations.
