Firefighters evacuate 100 during New Year’s Eve fire in Taraz, Kazakhstan

On New Year’s Eve in Taraz, Kazakhstan, emergency responders evacuated approximately 100 people from a restaurant engulfed in flames.
The fire originated in a seasonal annex attached to a two-story building on Zhambyl Avenue, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
Personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations acted swiftly, safely evacuating patrons and preventing the blaze from spreading to the main restaurant structure or a nearby gas station. The fire was brought under control over an area of 300 square metres.
No injuries were reported. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan confirmed.
