Firefighters extinguish blaze in Astana building
Around 100 firefighters responded to a high-priority fire in a building in Astana, Kazakhstan.
A command post was established at the scene, and 24 firefighting vehicles were deployed. No injuries have been reported, according to the Kazakh Ministry of Emergency Situations, cited by Caliber.Az.
The building is located on the right bank of Astana, and smoke from the fire was visible from the left bank. When the first firefighting units arrived, the fire had engulfed the second and third floors, and part of the roof had collapsed.
“The timely and professional actions of the firefighters helped prevent further spread of the fire and minimize the consequences of the incident,” the ministry said.
By the time of reporting, the fire had been extinguished over an area of 800 square meters.
