FlyOne flight returns to Yerevan due to technical issue

On July 23, passenger aircraft operated by FlyOne Armenia was forced to return to Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport after experiencing a technical issue shortly after take-off.

The flight, bound for the Moldovan capital Chișinău, departed as scheduled but remained in Armenian airspace for some time to burn off fuel before landing safely back at Zvartnots, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

The incident was confirmed by Armenia’s Civil Aviation Committee.

According to officials, the issue was not deemed critical.

The same aircraft was expected to resume its journey to Moldova at 15:00 local time, once the problem had been resolved. However, the flight has since been delayed further, pending clearance.

The aircraft spent just under two hours in the air before returning to the airport. No injuries or emergencies were reported.
