FlyOne launches direct flights between Chisinau, Batumi
FlyOne, a Moldovan low-cost airline, has launched direct flights connecting Moldova’s capital, Chisinau, with the Georgian Black Sea resort city of Batumi.
According to TAV Georgia, the operator of Tbilisi and Batumi international airports, the new route will operate three times a week during the summer flight season, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
Flights are currently scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays. Beginning July 14, the airline will add a Wednesday service, increasing the frequency to three weekly flights.
Batumi International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight from Chisinau with a ceremonial reception for arriving passengers.
According to TAV Georgia, the first Chisinau–Batumi flight carried 182 passengers aboard an Airbus A320, while the return Batumi–Chisinau service transported 161 passengers, indicating strong initial demand for the new route.
