FM Araghchi: Iran prepared for war
Iran is ready for both talks and war, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Istanbul.
“Iran is ready for both talks and war, and we are better prepared for the latter. However, we are not interested in letting events move towards conflict,” he said.
Araqchi emphasised that Tehran remains open to negotiations, but for now, discussions with any US representatives are not on the agenda.
Asked whether Iran has any preconditions for negotiations, Araqchi stressed a distinction between discussion and dictation.
“The outcomes of discussions are determined at the negotiating table. If one side imposes demands in advance, that is not a discussion. Iran will not sit at such a table,” he said.
