FM: Türkiye concerned Iran strikes could trigger wider war

Türkiye has voiced concern over the potential for the conflict in the Middle East to spread geographically, following recent attacks attributed to Iran.

Speaking live on TRT Haber, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan warned that if countries targeted by Iran’s strikes exercise their right to retaliate, the war could broaden in a bilateral format.

“This is a risky situation, as not only US military bases but also energy infrastructure in the countries affected by Iran’s attacks are under threat,” Fidan said.

He added that the possibility of the conflict expanding beyond the current theatres of operations remains a serious concern for Ankara.
