Foreign airlines in talks to resume flights to Iran

11 May 2026 12:09

Foreign airlines are in talks to resume flights to Iran following weeks of disruption linked to regional tensions and conflict, according to an Iranian airport official.

The CEO of Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport City said several international carriers had expressed readiness to restart operations to the country, while domestic airlines continue to operate international routes as scheduled, Iran International reports.

Speaking to ILNA, Ramin Kashef Azar said conditions at Imam Khomeini Airport were currently “normal.”

He added that discussions with foreign airlines were ongoing as aviation activity gradually stabilises following recent disruptions affecting regional air travel.
