Former Armenian ombudsman launches political career

Former Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan has announced the launch of his political career, citing limited impact in his previous human rights work under current conditions.

In a video message posted on social media, Tatoyan said he intends to use political tools to unite society and advance the country, aiming for what he described as “real peace,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

He did not specify which political party he would represent, but his initiative has received support from former head of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan, who is expected to join Tatoyan’s team.

Tatoyan served as Armenia’s ombudsman from 2016 to 2022.
