Former Armenian security chief’s party to skip June polls
27 February 2026 15:43
The party of Artur Vanetsyan, former head of Armenia’s National Security Service, will not take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for June.
The opposition Homeland party explained their decision by highlighting fundamental differences in their vision for Armenia’s future compared to other opposition forces, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The party noted that these differences make the formation of electoral blocs with other opposition groups unrealistic.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
