Former Kazakh economy minister appointed presidential economic advisor
Nurlan Baibazarov has been appointed as Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan on economic affairs. The decree was signed on March 25 by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Orda.kz reports.
Prior to this appointment, Baibazarov headed the Investment and Trade Department within the Presidential Administration and has now been relieved of that post.
Considered one of the key figures in Kazakhstan’s economic management, Baibazarov previously served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, and also led the Baiterek Holding and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.
His appointment strengthens the economic division within the Presidential Administration, which oversees investments, government programs, and business development initiatives.
