France to open consular agency in Armenia

France will open a consular agency in Goris, Armenia, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan.

“The 5th conference on ‘Decentralised Cooperation’ will be held soon in Syunik, Goris. This is a very important cooperation between our two countries. The fact that it will be held in Syunik is also a political signal,” he said, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media. 

According to him, France has made long-term commitments to Armenia: a number of documents have been signed, which will become the basis of these relations.

Barro noted that Expertise France, a French agency for international cooperation, will open a representative office in Armenia in the near future.
