Safran Group is a French company that produces aircraft components. It was established in 2005 as a result of the merger of Snecma aerospace engine manufacturer and SAGEM specialising in electronic systems. Safran Electronics & Defense offers a wide range of portable optronics products, including advanced multispectral binoculars, target locators and laser rangefinders, which are used worldwide by Joint Fires Observers (JFO), Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC) and special forces. Safran is also the manufacturer of the Patroller MALE UAV.
