FT: Russia preparing drone deliveries to Iran
Western intelligence sources indicate that Russia is close to completing phased deliveries of drones, medical supplies, and food to Iran.
If confirmed, this could mark the first instance of Moscow providing military support to Tehran since the outbreak of the current conflict, according to the Financial Times (FT).
According to two sources familiar with intelligence reports, senior Russian and Iranian officials began secret discussions on drone deliveries just days after Israel and the United States carried out strikes on Iran.
Deliveries reportedly began in early March and are expected to conclude by the end of the month.
The sources also indicated that Russia, a close ally of Iran, has already provided support in the form of satellite imagery, targeting data, and intelligence sharing.
