Gas explosion destroys house in Armenia's Echmiadzin, one injured
A gas leak caused an explosion that destroyed a house in Echmiadzin, Armenia, the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to Caliber.Az citing local media, the Ministry stated that on November 18 at 07:01, the crisis management centre of the Armavir Regional Rescue Department received a report that a residential building had collapsed at the intersection of Mravyan and Nalbandyan streets in Vagharshapat.
A person was trapped under the rubble, and emergency assistance was required. A fire and rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene.
Authorities determined that the explosion occurred in a house on Nalbandyan Street with an area of approximately 60 square meters, leading to the complete collapse of the building.
Rescuers cordoned off the area, extracted one person from the debris, and handed them over to the ambulance crew.
