Gen Lentsov to separatists: Pashinyan said Karabakh is Azerbaijan
Yesterday, several representatives of the illegal regime in Khankandi, including the chairman of the separatist "anti-crisis council" under Arayik Harutyunyan, Tigran Petrosyan, met with the commander of the Russian peacekeepers, Gen Lentsov.
“The meeting was held in a very tense atmosphere. Lentsov said that the responsibility for the situation on the Lachin `corridor’ lies not so much with Russia but with Nikol Pashinyan. According to the Russian general, the Lachin road was closed after Pashinyan's statement that Karabakh is Azerbaijan. The activists told the commander of the Russian peacekeepers that it was Putin, who guaranteed them a safe life, and this was confirmed by a statement on November 10, but the commander denied that only Russia was to blame for the situation. He also noted that they carry out instructions, and decisions should be made on a political platform. As a result, the activists left the meeting with Gen Lentsov dissatisfied,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Yerevan-based newspaper Hraparak.
“At the same time, according to some reports, it surfaced that two days before the meeting, a protest was also held outside the headquarters of the peacekeepers, but a maximum of 30 people participated in it. The meeting was attended by Artur Osipyan, and David Vanyan, one of Samvel Babayan's close friends, who are known for their anti-Russian views and are perceived in Karabakh as agents of another state. Residents of Karabakh believe that they are inciting anti-Russian sentiments on behalf of the Armenian authorities,” the newspaper writes.
