Georgia accuses EU FMs of aiding government overthrow attempt
16 May 2024 14:37
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has accused the foreign ministers of Iceland, Lithuania and Estonia, who took part in a rally against the law on "foreign agents" in Tbilisi, of attempting to overthrow the Georgian government.
"To address a group of agitated young people who are being turned against the government by radical opposition parties and call them 'all the people' is an act more expected from Soviet or Russian propaganda than from EU foreign ministers,” Papuashvili wrote on Facebook, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
“All the more to promote an attempt to overthrow a democratically elected government because you don't like the legislation it has passed," Papuashvili added.
