Georgia acquires modern anti-drone defence system, official says
Georgia has acquired a modern system for detecting and neutralizing unmanned aerial vehicles, Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for the Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies, Mamuka Mdinaradze said.
Mdinaradze confirmed that the country has obtained an ultra-modern anti-drone capability, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
“The acquisition of an ultra-modern unmanned aerial vehicle countermeasure system makes it possible to detect and neutralize several dozen drones within a radius of 5–6 kilometres,” he said.
He added that Georgia’s State Security Service “has never been at such a level of development as it is now.”
The official did not provide details on the circumstances surrounding the purchase or clarify whether the system has already been deployed in operational conditions.
