Georgia and Türkiye launch e-permit system for freight transport

Georgia and Türkiye have introduced an electronic permit system for international road freight transportation, enabling carriers from both countries to obtain all necessary authorisation documents digitally.

According to the Director of the Land Transport Agency, Bakur Mikadze, the new system will accelerate and secure data exchange, reduce administrative delays, and improve the efficiency of managing international road transport operations.

He noted that the implementation of the digital mechanism will further strengthen Georgia’s role as a regional transit hub. Similar systems are also planned to be introduced with other partner countries in the future.
