Georgia announces new Shanghai–Tbilisi air route
Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili announced that direct flights will be launched between Shanghai and Tbilisi, according to Georgian media reports cited by Caliber.Az.
The decision was reached during a meeting in China between the Georgian economy minister and the management of China Eastern Airlines.
“The launch of direct flights on the Tbilisi–Shanghai route is another confirmation of the high level of political and economic ties between the countries. This decision will strengthen people-to-people relations, economic ties, Georgia’s tourism industry, and will contribute to generating additional revenue,” Kvrivishvili said.
Under the agreement, China Eastern Airlines will operate regular flights on the Shanghai–Tbilisi–Shanghai route three times per week.
