Georgia arrests Turkish national wanted under Interpol red notice VIDEO
Georgian law enforcement authorities have arrested a Turkish national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The suspect was detained during a joint operation conducted by officers from the Central Criminal Police Department and the Adjara Police Department in the Black Sea resort city of Batumi, according to a statement published by the ministry on Facebook.
Authorities said the individual was being sought by Turkish law enforcement agencies in connection with multiple alleged criminal offences. The ministry did not disclose further details regarding the charges.
The arrest was carried out following operational and investigative measures undertaken by Georgian police.
Extradition procedures have been launched in line with Georgian legislation, and the suspect is expected to face legal proceedings related to his transfer to Türkiye.
