Georgia arrests two suspects over large-scale drug trafficking case VIDEO
Police in Georgia have detained two individuals on suspicion of illegal drug trafficking and facilitating drug distribution, according to the country’s Interior Ministry.
The suspects, identified as I.G. (born 1986) and previously convicted N.G. (born 2000), were arrested by officers of the Gldani-Nadzaladevi Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, the ministry said in a Facebook post.
Investigators reported that during searches in Rustavi and other locations, authorities seized 1,107 packages of so-called “bio” drugs prepared for sale, classified as a particularly large quantity.
Law enforcement also discovered equipment used for packaging narcotics, including electronic scales, adhesive tape, and zip-lock bags.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The suspects face up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment if convicted.
