Georgia authorizes protests, imposes restrictions
07 July 2026 20:57
Georgia's Interior Ministry has authorised anti-government protests through July 30 but introduced restrictions on where demonstrators may gather and how they may move.
A document published on the ministry's website allows protesters to assemble on the steps in front of the parliament building and in the adjacent area, provided they do not obstruct pedestrian or vehicle traffic, Caliber.Az reports, citing Sputnik Georgia.
The document also requires demonstrators to comply with public safety regulations and refrain from disrupting the normal functioning of government bodies, businesses, institutions, and organisations.
Under the new rules, anti-government protests will be permitted daily from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.
