Georgia bars Russian travelers born in Crimea, Luhansk
30 December 2025 19:31
Georgia has reportedly begun denying entry to Russian citizens whose passports list Crimea or Luhansk as their place of birth.
Several tourists who had planned to spend the New Year holidays in Georgia were refused entry for this reason, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian Telegram channel.
“Six passengers on this flight were not allowed into Georgia,” the source added.
At present, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not issued any official guidance or confirmation regarding restrictions on travelers born in Crimea or Luhansk.
The reported measures come amid heightened scrutiny of travel documents in the region, though it remains unclear whether Georgia will formalize the policy.
