Georgia, China discuss development of bilateral relations
Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili has met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, to discuss the development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the two sides focused on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, technology and education, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
Special attention was paid to Georgia’s role as a transport and transit hub and to the development of the Middle Corridor project, as well as the active involvement of Chinese investors in the country’s infrastructure projects.
Zhao Leji said China was ready to work jointly on implementing important agreements and to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Papuaşvili, in turn, invited his Chinese counterparts to pay a reciprocal visit to Georgia.
