Georgia, China discuss broader security cooperation PHOTO
Georgia and China have discussed ongoing cooperation between their law enforcement agencies and prospects for expanding ties, including in the field of police education, as part of the visit by a Chinese delegation.
Led by Yang Zhuo, Deputy Director General of the Guizhou Provincial Public Security Department, the delegation met Georgian Deputy Interior Ministers Giorgi Sakhokia and Shalva Tadumadze, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The meeting was also attended by Tbilisi Police Department Director Vaja Siradze.
The delegation toured the Police and Public Security Academy, where a memorandum of cooperation was signed.
The document provides for joint educational projects as well as the exchange of experience and best practices.
The guests also visited the Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where they were briefed on its work and laboratory capabilities.
At the end of the visit, the head of the Chinese delegation thanked the Georgian side and expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation between the agencies.
