Georgia, China seek to boost Middle Corridor efficiency

Georgia and China have discussed issues related to further developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (The Middle Corridor) and improving its efficiency and competitiveness.

The sides – Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and Chinese Transport Minister Liu Wei – also exchanged views on prospects for expanding direct air links between the two countries, including the possibility of launching direct flights between Tbilisi and Beijing, as well as Tbilisi and Guangzhou, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

In this context, the sides noted a joint statement adopted in Beijing on promoting greater capacity, reliability, efficiency and competitiveness of the Middle Corridor.

The initiative envisages strengthening cooperation among participating countries across various areas.
