Georgia nabs 50 foreign nationals over migration violations VIDEO
Georgia has detained 50 foreign nationals for immigration violations following a series of nationwide enforcement operations, the Interior Ministry said.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the ministry said employees of the Migration Department carried out “special immigration control measures” across the country.
The operations targeted individuals residing in Georgia without legal grounds, with officers inspecting multiple facilities and locations as part of the coordinated effort.
Those detained include citizens of India, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Jordan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Uganda and Kenya, according to the ministry.
All detainees have been transferred to the Migration Department’s Temporary Accommodation Centre, where procedures related to their deportation are currently underway.
