Georgia detains Armenian drug smugglers

Armenian citizens have been detained while trying to smuggle drugs into Georgia.

According to Novosti-Georgia's report, citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the border police detained two Armenian citizens who were trying to smuggle drugs into Georgia bypassing the checkpoint.

The investigation established that the Armenian nationals have illegally crossed the state border near the Sadakhlo checkpoint and transported 12 bags of Alfa-PVP drugs to Georgia.

An investigation is underway into the fact of illegal crossing of the state border by a group of persons, as well as the illegal acquisition, storage and importation of narcotic drugs into the territory of Georgia.
