Georgia increases wine exports to Russia by over 60%

In 2022, Georgia increased its wine exports to Russia by 63.7 per cent, and in the first quarter of 2023 - by another one and a half times.
Georgia is the largest supplier of wine to Russia, having displaced Italy from this position, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the data of the Georgian monitoring centre GMC.
According to analysts, the forecasted revenues of Georgian wine suppliers to Russia in 2023 will exceed $240 million.
At the same time, owners and top managers of 8 out of the 10 largest exporters of Georgian wine to Russia are financial donors of the ruling pro-Russian party "Georgian Dream".
Almost all Georgian wine brands exported to Russia are also on the shelves of Ukrainian supermarkets.
