Georgia, Qatar strengthen defence cooperation
Georgia and Qatar have agreed to deepen cooperation in the defence sector following talks between senior officials in Doha.
Georgia’s Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani met Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during an official visit to the Qatari capital, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Chikovani travelled to Doha at the invitation of his Qatari counterpart.
The discussions focused on expanding bilateral defence cooperation, which both sides said would contribute to the further strengthening of relations between the two countries.
During the visit, the Georgian defence minister invited Al Thani to visit Tbilisi. The two officials also attended an international military exhibition together.
