Georgia records rise in tourist arrivals from Central Asia

Georgia welcomed 115,416 tourists from Central Asian countries in January–June 2026, marking a 3.1% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

In the second quarter, the number of international visits from the region rose by 6.9% to 76,405, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.

Kazakhstan accounted for the largest share of arrivals, with 44,943 visits, up 9.4% year-on-year, followed by Uzbekistan with 19,769 visitors, an increase of 2.8%.

The administration noted that Central Asia remains one of Georgia’s priority tourism markets. To attract more travellers, the country conducts promotional campaigns, participates in tourism exhibitions, organises B2B meetings, roadshows, presentations and familiarisation tours.

At present, Georgia is connected to Central Asian countries through 17 air routes.

During the summer season, several airlines, including Air Astana, FlyArystan, SCAT Airlines and Centrum Air, have increased the frequency of flights between Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
