Georgia’s Black Sea power cable project gains interest from Europe
05 December 2025 19:50
The project to install an underwater power cable across the Black Sea is drawing strong interest from both Georgia and Europe, Deputy Minister of Economy Inga Pkhalaidze said.
She noted that the initiative launched by Georgia has been included in a European Commission list for potential designation as a project of mutual interest by the end of 2025, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
Pkhalaidze noted that Georgia is currently working to diversify its electricity production through the use of all available renewable energy sources. She indicated that the green energy generated in the country is expected to be in demand in Europe, Asia, and beyond, as it can be supplied as clean, sustainable power.
