Georgia’s IT sector emerges as key driver of economic growth

Revenue in Georgia’s IT sector surged by 67% to reach $1.15 billion in 2025, according to the Telegram channel of Sputnik Georgia.
Data from the National Bank show the industry has become one of the main sources of foreign currency inflows and a major engine of economic growth, expanding by 28.7% over the year.
By the end of 2025, the sector employed 54,500 people, with the average salary reaching 4,433 lari ($1,640), higher than in any other field.
The boom has been driven by an influx of IT specialists from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus between 2022 and 2023.
