Georgia’s Papuashvili says EU relations to be key topic in Istanbul
Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili has stated that meetings with representatives of EU member states in Istanbul will focus on relations between Georgia and the European Union.
He said they would discuss with representatives of EU member states the unfavourable situation Georgia is observing from Brussels, where, unfortunately, dialogue channels are being blocked, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
Papuashvili mentioned that there was an increasing tendency toward unilateral directives.
He outlined other issues he plans to raise at the 152nd session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul.
“Our main message is the new threats that are very clearly visible across all countries. Today, everyone is trying to protect their national interests from external interference, so I want to speak about the need for a unified approach to responding to hybrid threats of external interference,” the speaker added.
