Georgia's ruling party chides Zourabichvili for meetings with opposition
According to the head of the ruling "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia" party Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has held a series of meetings with representatives of the country's largest opposition force, the United National Movement.
Kobakhidzde described this as an unthinkable act for the head of state, Caliber.Az reports citing Georgian media.
"It was really embarrassing. Imagine, on one side Zourabichvili and on the other side people who literally cursed her. It is a disgrace, it is appalling," Kobakhidze said.
He noted that the Georgian President became a direct participant in the 2024 election campaign on the side of the United National Movement and its allies. Kobakhidze added that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be conducted properly and the state authorities will be responsible for it.
