Georgia says problems with Ukraine remain despite fresh talks
05 May 2026 12:34
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said that longstanding issues between Georgia and Ukraine remain unresolved despite recent talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze said discussions with Zelenskyy during their meeting on May 4 were focused on the future of bilateral relations, but acknowledged that existing disagreements persist, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
“Our conversation with Zelenskyy yesterday was oriented towards the future. I will not go into details, but the problems have not disappeared, they remain. This also concerns the issue of recalling the ambassador,” Kobakhidze said.
