Georgia seeks to restore US relations based on mutual respect
Georgia is seeking to restore its strategic relations with the United States based on mutual respect and fairness, Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the parliamentary EU Integration Committee said.
Makhashvili emphasised that Georgia does not wish to revive ties with the US "at any cost." He stated that had this been the case, relations would have been restored earlier. Instead, he stressed that any future cooperation must be grounded in respect and fairness, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
Makhashvili also expressed cautious optimism, noting that recent developments in the relationship between the two countries provide hope that the restoration of ties could occur in the near future.
However, he made it clear that Georgia is prepared to wait as long as necessary to restore relations on its own terms.
