Georgia set to restart key Baku–Supsa oil pipeline, minister says
The operation of the Baku–Supsa oil pipeline is expected to resume in the near future, said Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili.
Kvrivishvili confirmed that preparations are underway to restart the pipeline’s operations, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
She described the Baku–Supsa oil pipeline as having strategic importance not only for Georgia but for the wider region.
According to the minister, the resumption of the project will further strengthen Georgia’s position as a reliable transit partner for neighboring countries and for Europe, ensuring the safe and stable transportation of oil through its territory.
“The Baku–Supsa oil pipeline is of strategic importance for our country and the region as a whole. The resumption of the project will allow Georgia to further strengthen its position as a reliable and important partner for neighboring countries and Europe, ensuring the safe transit of oil through the country,” Kvrivishvili said.
